                                 Tamarind- Thai and Chinese Food, Great Thai, try the red curry! Casual Food court, economical.
                                 Federico's- Mexican, Great Mexican, try  the Cevice! Casual Food court, economical.
                    In Hanalei town-10minutes by car:

                                  Bouchon- lively atmosphere, sushi and other foods
                                  The Dolphin- has a variety of fish dish and has a great sushi bar.  Nice small fish market in back.

               Beaches-
                      Pali Ke Kua Beach- secluded, with natural shade. 10 minute walk down the street and down a paved path through tropical jungle.
                      Hide-away's beach- 10 minutes down the road and then another 5-10 min down an adventurous dirt path to a small beautiful beach.
                      St. Regis Princeville Resort Beach(called Pua Poa Beach)- 20 minutes walk down the street and on the
                        public access path to the hotel's beach.
                      Hanalei Bay-  10 minutes by car. So picturesque, beautiful for long walks,
                        calm swimming in summer, usually waves for surfing in winter
                      Haena beaches- 20 minutes by car.  Rugged, wild and beautiful.  Park
                         where permissible and walk down away from the crowds
                         to have the beach to yourself
                       Anini Beach- 10 minutes by car.  Calm even during the highest surf.
              Hiking:
                      the Napali Coast, 20 minutes by car to the end of the road.  Hike for as long
                         as you want along the 11 mile trail. Beautiful views, often muddy &
                         slippery.  Don't swim at the beaches, because of dangerous currents.
                      Kokee State Park-  so many beautiful hikes, long and short.  Breathtaking views

                           hiking, zipping and kayaking tours
                  Na Pali Coast Boat tours:  so many companies with a variety of tours by
                     kayak, zodiac, or catamarans, all day or sunset cruise.  See lots of
                      sea life, spectacular views
Surfing-
                 Surf shops in Hanalei rent beginner boards or set you up with an instructor.
 
Shopping:
                  Hanalei Town- quite a few cute shops including surf, clothes, kids, souvenirs, etc
                  Princeville Shopping Center- eating court, cute shops, along with Foodland,
                             post office, dry cleaners, etc.  The Magic Dragon is a great toys shop.
                  Kung Lung Center-Kilauea Town- just a small town center but cute couple of shops
                  Farmers Markets- all over the island on specific days,
                            Hanalei Saturday Market, Saturdays 9am-1:30pm
                            Hawaiian Farmers of Hanale'i, 5 min. out of Hanalei town, Tues. 2pm,                       
                            Kilauea Neighborhood Center,Thursday,  4:30pm
